Default Nice 2005 UL

I'm not really in the market, but I love looking at the nice LS430s as they pop up on CarGurus, and I just saw one today that looks like a gem! The only downfall I can see is the gold color, which I know is not very popular (though I actually really like that color, and have seen signs that it is coming back into vogue currently).

Here's the link: https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=234017947

If I were actively seeking an UL, I'd be all over this one!

The color of the car you own and drive should be to please yourself. Why would you drive a car with a color that pleases others but you are uncomfortable with! Really?

The lower part of the front bumper looks like it hit something or had some paint work. The little pieces in front of the front wheels should be black, not body color.

I agree. They are rubber air dams and should be black and not painted body color.

Good point! That's actually exactly what I was thinking when I bought my 2006 SC430 in the gold color! It somehow just looked right to me in that color with the Ecru interior. I've never regretted it, and still love how it looks (though I realize gold is one of those colors that might be hard to resell one day, but I don't plan on selling, so I'm good ;-)

Exactly. I've never bought a car while thinking of the next buyer. It's for me, not them. I'm the one that is going to enjoy it.

I believe those little black pieces are some kind of air dam for air flow. The bumper covers (as they are referred to) get scratched and nicked on a regular basis. Most of these covers get repainted as part of prep work before being retailed. Apparently, the shop might not have bothered to remove the air dams and/or bumper cover when refinishing the bumper. Not a really big deal, but shows sloppy work. I've sure the bottom splash cover must have over spray on it as well. I'd be looking at other areas for paint work too. If it were my car, I would have those air dams replaced to be uniform and original. But I'm a fanatic and not the norm. Again, the buyer would have to like the color which is entirely subjective.

Took me a moment trying to understand what you all talking about. I need to learn a lot from you all...

+1 for buying a car with the color and options that you like. Resell value never influence my buying decision.

The air dams come off when removing the front bumper (a single bolt us used to secure the outside air dam bolt and the bumper). I would guess that the bumper was repainted without removing the bumper and the result was overspray beneath the bumper. It should have at least been masked off.

Looks like a little higher mileage version of mine. My wife likes the Gold color, so I'm cool with it....

This may be one of a kind: UL, low mileage, radar cruise, nice driver seat, non-faded steering wheel - in gold!

If this is your dream car, it may be the last time you see it up for sale in this condition.

Also, perhaps the original owner had the air dams painted just to make the car look nicer.

Default Similar to mine

Really similar to my 05, in fact. I don't do gold, but some folks really like it, each to their own.

Radar cruise is one of the beat features in a car, period! I have 375 K miles in my 2010 Prius with radar cruise. One of the reasons I bought the LS is the radar cruise option. It is a must have for me. I kinda miss the lane keeping but thanks to the highway stability of the LS the lack of lane keeping is not a big issue.
I'm a salesman, I drive a lot.The radar can see better than I can. Tho the owners manual advises to not use it in bad weather I do, because it can see better than I, and the speed can be set as slow as 28 MPH.
It's hard to beat as a safety feature in heavy fog. For heavens sake that's why we had it on my commercial boat.

The convenience is awesome too. I'm lovin my silver aircraft carrier.
