The 05 sits in the garage and rarely gets used (700 miles since last November). My wife doesn't work outside of home, so her trips are few and far between. That stupid Volt I bought has been fantastic, but I do miss the ride that the LS gave me. Not to mention the cavernous room the car has.

So, yes I am kind of "over" the LS430 experience, but its a dead-nuts reliable car and I'd be a fool to get ride of it...

I'm so tired of it that I've got a very low mileage backup that is very similar to my current car sitting in the garage, waiting it's turn.

LOL that's like my Snap On tools or my Channellock screwdrivers and pliers, more than one of certain tools. (no joke the screwdriver is my favorite so I have 3 spares)

Put some properly fitting 20”s (staggered) on it and it’ll sharpen the steering. Those 16”s or even 18’s with squishy sidewalls are what is causing the vague feeling. I love my LS for its balance of reliability, luxury, and performance.

I say no to German “engineering”, unless its Porsche.

Staggering the tires would add understeer, wouldn't it? I would strongly suggest everyone here to drive a brand new LS500, to get a good idea on how a brand new car handles. I think that you will find the LS430 steering to be quite excellent, and the LS500 to be poor.

Someone mentioned steering rack bushings so I just thought I’d chime in and say how outstanding the Daizen poly steering rack bushings are. They tightened up my steering considerably without any increase in NVH

When you guys say tighten up, what improved?

What I envision for loosey goosey steering is a 2012-2018 BMW, a 2019 RX350 or 2019 LS500, a good % of modern cars with electric power steering. There is zero effort, zero feel, and when you let go of the wheel, it wants to return to center. You can literally, no exaggeration, use your pinkie, and turn the wheels from lock to lock standing still. That's my complaint with many modern cars, and if there is a sport+ mode, it multiplies the artificial feel, making it worse. I have not driven the 2019 BMW 3 series, but apparently it's been fixed. I have driven as late as 2016 Porsche 991's, and their steering while not like a LS500, were not as good as pre EPS 911's. my .02 there are many things that may not be up to snuff on a LS430, namely handling, but steering is something I think they got right lol

I agree, steering feel has always been decent on the 430 but the on center steering on mine wasn't the best. Steering is now way tighter on center with practically no play. And the bushings I removed still looked practically new so I can't imagine the difference they would make on a higher mileage 430 with worn bushings.

I've been struggling with the steering feel on my '01 for a while now, so I just ordered some of those Daizen steering rack bushings, in hope that they will help me fall in love.

I have absolutely no real reason to not love my '01, except that I would like something sportier. As you guys know, they drive great, they're comfortable, and reliable! Maybe I'll pick up a fun weekend toy!

My buddy said he needs to talk as he wants to get a Golf R. Here we go again I have to talk him out of it and into the M2 or M3. I would never, ever, buy a VW, yet I have always loved the GTI, and envy people who get to drive that to work every day. I drove a 2015 for a week down in Atlanta and it's a fun car to drive. Most don't care and don't relate to the fun factors of vehicles. LS430 doesn't have any, but at the same time, to be fair, it wasn't designed to be fun, either. It's all business!

not tired of mine a bit. It remains one of the highest quality cars ever built....still quiet and smooth, still quick enough, and still dead reliable.

I love how reliable and well made the car is but I think is time for me to move on. I bought an 08 vw rabbit last month and I've only drove the Lexus a few times since then
Yeah. You definitely bought the wrong car when you bought the LS430. Or maybe it was given to you. Most owners here search long and hard to buy the LS430, and when they find one, they are happy.

Enjoy your rabbit. Maybe your next car should be a 350z. Wait...... Maybe a civic si coupe.

I'l tell you what I'm tired of.......it's NOT having an LS in my life! I have had: LS400, LS430, GS400, SC400, SC300 NA/T, and SC430. Have been without an LS in my life for a few years and it makes me sad daily. I am going to fix that problem and get another. I was going to get a 460 but I think w all the issues of the 460 and price that the 430 is the better buy for me. For a comfy dd it will be perfect for me. I am searching now and have been for the last year. Looking for a clean LS w good maint records and decent price. Once I find it....I will be a happy camper!!

Someone at the gym that I go to drives an 01-03 LS with the same color as mine. I always notice that car, not a lot of LS around here in general. Well, I saw that car again, but with sign for sale. It just reminded me of this thread.

My wife was like ohhh still looks good... should we have a second LS? She loves white LS. I was like, do not even joke about that...
