My pleasure. after all the help I have received glad to give back. Its easy to touch phone at a light or use to make a call. When I want it in front of the GPS I put it on that non-skid rubber that I cut to Fit the GPS lip...Works great also. In above picture. Thanks

Ha.....I agree Thunders cassette insert was crafty for sure.......and I gave him props...The only thing I dont like about his location is that the phone is blocking vents....part of the GPS screen....and some radio controls. I like mine lower so its not another bright light or distraction at night........I use my phone for GPS and its no issue at all having it a little lower.
I will add another note though.....my brother just purchased a phone holder for his i phone that would work great for the LS430.......this holder is a cigarette charger attached to a heavy flex shaft about 6" long which attaches to a plastic snap in phone holder. With the 430....u would plug in to lower console charging port and the heavy flex shaft would point straight upward to hold phone right about where mine is......again no damage to car....easily removable......and its functional.

LS430 cell phone mounting options
I have a 2001 LS430 UL and would like to mount my HTC M8 on the dash when driving. Looking for options. Those of you who have please post what you are using, pics obviously appreciated! Looking for a secure mounting method that doesn't severely block the dash controls. I have a slim case on the phone and not interested in mounts that require the case be removed every time (ain't got time fo dat). Also interested in whatever other gizmos you have installed such as aftermarket bluetooth, etc. that integrates with the phone. Currently I have the Vaistech XM satellite tuner but no aux RCA input, so I can't connect my phone to the stereo system, unless I want to go old school with cassette adapter.

Some good ideas in here. I went a slightly different route. This may not work well for large phones (5" + because it may block the screen and/or buttons) but its cheap. I have the Vaistech MML. As you see below i have the USB cable routed through the pop out drawer so when not in use its pretty stealthy.
Bought a $10 magnetic vent that has a swivel. Click here This was important because the normal vent mounts I saw did not have any swivel so the phone could not be angled towards the driver, or passenger.
Pros: Low profile, sturdy, can be easily moved, adjusted. Does not block climate control/audio buttons
Cons: You block part of the audio controls. Not a con for me personally as those controls are pretty much useless now.

You can totally play music on your phone through the stereo if the tape deck works. You can get an adapter that is a cassette with a headphone jack at Walmart. You can get cheap ones or pay $20 for one made by Monster. I use one every day.

They do work but, I HATE all the cables on my dash....You have a cable from the tape deck, then power cord from the center console.... Ugh...

This is the mount I use in my cars (all of them).
It's called the iOttie 1 Touch. http://www.iottie.com/Product/Series/OneTouch/Car-Mount
Can be installed/removed by 1 hand.

I have an 06 LS430 .You know that little space between the seat and the console where the seatbelt is? I put mine there. It doesnt slide between the seats because of that stopper thing LoL when i need it i grab it real quick.
