I recently created my own little stainless steel bracket that sticks out between the CD flap and the interior foam and then bends 90°.
I used 1mm thick 430 stainless as it is magnetic.
My phone attaches to it via a double magnet adapter. Works in portrait or landscape mode. :-)
I used to have a metal disk stuck on the cover of the pop out drawer, but it kept peeling off when it got hot.
I should have taken pics when making it but I rarely remember to take pics when I'm making stuff.
Just took these pics of it. It goes back about 4" into the space behind the CD flap and is stuck to the side with 3M sticky pads.
