After 9 years it finally happened

My front bumper cover is 500.10 OEM from Lexus. Molding strip is 115.00. Paint is 130.00 then there is 6.8 hours labor. It all adds up. Please don't jump on me about how dirty the front of my car is. I just got back from a 4000 mile round trip to Chicago to see my son graduate from the Chicago police academy.

UPDATE: Looks like the 19 year old driver is not responding to his insurance company(progressive). So if i dont hear from his insurance co soon i will go with my insurance co.
There isn't a snowball chance in hell the the damage will cost $1500 to repair. The trunk is about 3" pushed in. Also the drivers exhaust is crushed and the drivers quarter panel is rippled.Maybe i could put a new trunk lid on and use some bungee cord to hold it down.LOL

This should be interesting... How does the at fault driver not "respond" to his insurance company?? Does he need to?

You are a hero with that check! Now you are smelling like a rose! Good luck to you. That should at least give you a good start in finding a replacement. Didn't realize Insurance companies value our antiques with those numbers! Good for you.

Thanks Bocatrip, It scored the top number on the condition report. The adjuster said she had to book it out 3 times because she couldnt believe it was that high.

new respect for "Flo" Progressive. My offer is $7,500 or half and a salvage title. Don't like either so I am still driving the "totaled" wreck. none of my tail lights are broken, but the trunk does not open. Germainia sucks.

I worry about this stuff with my car and my son's GS300 all the time. I know that with the age and mileage on these cars they will total them out in heartbeat and then trying to find another one in the same condition is not easy at all. My '04 with 135k got totaled due to hail damage a little over 2 years ago and I got $10.5 from insurance for it. I was lucky to find my current LS within a month and paid $11k out the door with 110k and good service records. It wasn't the color I wanted but had to overlook that for the rest of the car. You got a good price from insurance. Now you just have to find decent one to match.
