Default Need help! Stripped timing belt tensioner assembly bolt.

Just reassembling everything after timing belt water pump install and the passenger side tensioner hole with the Allen head stripped on me.

I know it bolts into the oil pump, and that requires lifting the motor to drop the oil pan. Really not wanting to do that. Would a helicoil work on this issue? I appreciate any help I can get.

The threads it screws into or the female portion of the bolt itself where the allen head fits inside?

Yeah, it’s the female portion. Basically the oil pump housing.

If helicoil is not practical, and changing oil pump becomes the better option, you can replace it without removing the engine.
