Oil Warning Light
My LS430 year 2002 oil warning light does not turn off even though checking the oil manually it is okay. Computer does not show the problem. I would appreciate your help. Tnank you.

You might have either low oil level or low oil pressure. If the dipstick says the level is full, then oil pressure would be the next thing to check. I would't drive it far with that light on. On this particular engine I am not sure where you would connect an analog pressure gauge to see first hand what the pressure is, but others might have a suggestion or your local mechanic can test it for you. When was the last time the oil and filter was changed? What weight is the oil?

You can attach an analog gauge by removing the oil pressure switch on the oil filter housing and install one. I used the Harbor Freight one on my car. If your oil pressure is low the car will tell you "low oil pressure" on the information center on the left side of the dash.
It sounds like if it's a light that won't go away you just need a new oil level switch that bolts into the side of the oil pan. I'm guessing it thinks it's low on oil.
