Headlights-parking light bulb options?
I have not had my LS 430 too long and still have questions that come up as I use the car. It is a great car and I like it more than the MB, so I am selling the MB and this will be my daily driver. I have found many answers to questions about the car and everyone has been great with helping me. Thank you all. I have a new question that I can't find anything in the past threads. I would like to know the purpose of the small light bulb in the top front of the reflector of the high beam light. It appears to be on most of the time. I think it may be the DRL, however, it just looks too small and I have never seen a DRL that small before. It is not very bright and just does not seem to do too much from a short distance. Can someone fill me in on this and is there a mod one does to make this better?

The small amber light bulb located on the upper portion of the low beam is called the "parking light". It is different than the daylight running light (DRL), which is the high beam running on reduced voltage.

Ok , that clears it up. I remember now that the high beams were DRL when running on half power. The small lamp above and in front of the high beam was the one I could not figure out. I thought the parking lights were the amber lights on the lower front fenders, just ahead of the wheel well.
Thanks for the info.
