Hello all I acquired a 01 LS430 today with 169k miles and service records from since it was new. Needs a little tlc with little things and cleaned up. The moonroof on it doesn’t respond to pressing the tilt or open buttons. Are the motors on the moonroof as quiet as the engines cause I can’t hear anything and it doesn’t open at all. It will be my daily commuter and so far love how comfortable and quiet and smooth it is.

[You may wish to try opening it with the remote by holding down the unlock button for a several seconds (Unlocks door, opens windows, and moon roof.). This may tell you it may not be a fuse and may be the switch if roof opens. You may then wish to jump the switch if it dos not open and fuse is good.]

I got it for $3300. Checked the fuse and it’s good and switched fuses and still not working. It does have an aftermarket radio in it. Maybe that could have something to do with it?

i never understood sunroofs,.. why? I have one and I dont even know if it works because I've never opened it, and I don't see any reason to either

Thats another topic altogether. I only have a valet key and no master key. So that’s not an option right now til I get to a dealer and have a key programmed.
