Default Interweb search yields many fine LS430 examples. Is this an opportunity?

Did an interweb search of the LS430 which shows what appears to be many fine examples of this still, in my opinion, very fine to own automobile. As nearly 160,000 LS430's were sold in the USA during its 6 year run, and as the car has aged, are there becoming now, more and more opportunities for those looking to buy an LS430 being offered attractively? (I think an argument may be made that this may be the best opportunity, so far, to become an owner of an LS430 and to get quite a good value.) Any thoughts from others who may wish to share them?

I bought mine as a cheap daily beater, but ended up really loving it. I am more comfortable in that car than any other I have ever owned. i would actually liek to buy another "nice" one just to have a clean example someday

I certainly found it to be a great opportunity when I bought mine this April. Once cars get about 11-12+ years old, they get much closer to bottoming out on the depreciation curve because many 3rd party lenders will not finance a car that old. So you are left with three options of: paying cash (what I always do), getting a personal loan, or getting a loan directly from a buy here pay here dealership.

With the youngest LS430's being around 14 years old, maintenance history becomes very important around this time as well. If a timing belt is still original, it should absolutely be replaced as a precaution even if the car only has 40K miles. Suspension components, belts, hoses, and seals should also be checked over.

If you have been craving an LS430, now is a good time to pick one up. The only advantage of waiting is that you'll be paying a little less to buy the car; but you may not have as many vehicles in the market to cherry pick what you want.

I’m confused. Normally you would say $8500 for a 430 especially with a check engine light is way too high. You’ve consistently, on almost every pricing thread, voiced your opinion that the car in question was outrageous, warranted or not.

Why the change of heart?

There is lots of leg work involved in evaluating any car advertised with either low miles or low price. If the buyer has the time and it's practical to see it, you may find a good one, but be assured that once a dealer get's a hold of any pristine one owner example you will be paying through the nose and still have to deal with any issues that come with our older cars. The best way to find a real buy is also the hardest......finding one on the street and asking if the seller would like to sell.....if not now....when? Good luck hunting.
