I just purchased a BlueDriver OBD2 bluetooth scanner so that I can reset my CEL without having to see my Indy. My CEL comes on periodically (P0440) for evaporative emission system. Car runs great and I'm not concerned. I however tried out my new BlueDriver and did a complete module scan which did take some time. There was no CEL on. Upon completion I came up with a bizarre B1400 Code. The definition came up as unavailable. The frequently reported fix was to replace the a/c evaporator core. I have my car for 10 years and the a/c has always worked unbelievably well. No issues whatsoever. There is a disclaimer on the bottom of the report that states: The possible causes outlined above may or may not be the cause of your vehicle trouble code being triggered. I erased the code (which never triggered the CEL). I assume this is a glitch with the scanner as I have never had nor do I presently have any issues whatsoever with the A/C. What do you guys think? Do some of these scanners have issues and come up with nonsense? I just got the scanner and am not sure I'm going to keep it as I'm not crazy about bluetooth scanners. They can freeze and be erratic. To be continued.

I ended up having too many issues with connectivity and I wasn’t happy about having to use my phone as well as it being too slow. I ended up returning the blue driver.

Autel has a new compact scanner that still has dealer level scans for most stuff for only $800 or so. It's basically all that's needed for home use in my experience, it's actually sorta comparable to the top model sans programming and scope features and some really really specific German car functions

A guy at work has the same GM car as my wife down to the color. He's a big wig so when I pull in with wifey's car, the guards mistake me for him and wave lol
Anyhow I have a cheap Autel (the $19 one) that I always used for my 1998 Nissan. Then because my wife got the ABS/service stabilitrak I bought a $90 scanner that has abs and srs. It indicated an error with the brake pedal position sensor ($6 on amazon for the OE sensor!). So $96 plus tax and problem solved. Someone posted $400 CAD at the dealer.
The friend at work had all kinds of errors where dealer told him needs CATs and he already did 2. I noticed that the $19 scanner detected MIL but could not say what it was, and the $90 one could list out the actual codes and what they were (he felt better knowing the dealer was actually not lying).
The $90 one has you enter the make model etc. so it's a lot more sophisticated.
I have this BT tool that unfortunately just won't communicate with my 2007 BMW for battery registration (either my car is an early 2007 mfg 10/06 or it had its DME upgraded to a MSD81). I also have Rheingold that might do the battery programming, I used it for the ABS module job where it pulses each channel of the pump. BMW insists you cannot get all the air out of the ABS pump by slamming on your brakes on gravel/rain etc. But some forum members claim you can.
With the BMW I have stuck to programming and stayed away from coding....maybe one day when I have an AMG I'll be brave, get myself a clean power supply, and code that bad boy!
p.s. I don't think I've ever plugged the $90 scanner into the LS430, I am not sure if the ABS and SRS will read, as the car may be too old. Wife's is 2011.

Any OBD2 scanner for the LS430 needs to have ABS/SRS.... or when trying to reset the CEL it triggers the Slip, VDC, etc to come on......and then we end up with the paper clip scenario to get it off. Thus...the necessity to have a scanner with ABS/SRS for the the LS430. I learned the hard way when I purchased a cheap one (Zurich) from Harbor Freight without ABS.

With the complete scan.........I could take a trip to Hawaii and when I come back the Blue Driver would still be scanning! lol Not sure why it gets so many positive reviews. They have a great promotional guy working for that product. Almost 5,000 reviews on amazon!
