Although I would prefer 06, then 05. 03 will look a little different headlights-wise...
jersey car, if I find one local my neighbor is a certified mechanic with a lift in his garage to check things out.

most of the cars around here (outside Philly) are auction cars listed by flippers or pimp my ride specials.

It probably comes from knowing people who do it. I don't like flipped homes nor cars. I had a friend who flipped houses and did work himself. I just saw how shoddy everything was (he would never cut those corners on his own home). Then we have an in-law who is a German car specialist/used car dealer. There's a reason I don't ask him to help me find a 2013 S63 AMG. lol Let's say in PA he specializes in trips down to Miami with his trailer. I suppose likely I'd never be looking for the cars dealers won't touch...

Every used car on a dealers lot is a flipped car. Black book says its worth x amount on trade in, they sometimes do zero work to it, and relist it at black books retail amount.

Biggest scam out there. Going to a dealership gets you one thing...a used car that's had a visual inspection, maybe by a mechanic who isn't half asleep. Doesn't matter where a car comes from, a good car is a good car and a bad car is a bad car.

This is what I used to think, as I went to two Lexus dealers looking for used LS430s in late 2016. Again one emailed me a PDF that was an internal work order pretending to recondition the vehicle for sale, looked just like a customer invoice only internal. On it was 4 new Dunlops SP OE tires, and when I saw the car in person, it didn't have them. It's like car dealers are so crooked they even internally charge one department to the other and don't do the work. I bet the GM has to get the staff together to remind them to cheat external customers, not internal ones. What a crooked industry....the trick that really disturbs me is making warranty claims against the mfg and not doing the work. They seem ok with it since the customer didn't pay anything. I get it, even doctors have been busted doing that. Human nature.

The asking price may be a bit high, but the seller is unlikely to get much play with the way the ad is written. The interior looks nice. This one is worth exploring further. A purchase at 4 grand or so may be in the cards.

That ULs interior is way too beat up for my tastes and I would not pay over 3k for it for that reason alone. These are seriously old cars and to demand that price condition condition condition, I already was hesitant buying mine since I knew I would be sinking 30 hours into cosmetic correction and it wasn't even half as bad as that one. The one linked would be getting the carpet removed honestly
