Unfortunately, the posted photo is blurry and fails to show the detail that distinguishes the CL/UL upgraded leather. It would be obvious in a clear pic, especially if shown up-close. The door panel leather is the best feature of it IMHO.

I honestly can't tell a difference between the base and the upgraded leather, and I've looked up close.....my buddy has an UL. The leather dash, though, is awesome.

I believe the top of the dash across all trims is a soft touch injection molded plastic.
The extra stitched leather in CL and UL comes in the form of the bottom and the middle of the dash, the sides of the central armrest, and all around the doors on the inside. The headliner is also alcantara vs. standard cloth.

Hello!
I've never owned an LS430, but have been interested in buying an 05-06 LS430 for a while, and have come to the conclusion based on reading this forum that the Custom Luxury trim is the most desirable based on a few factors:
-Higher quality leather (Semi Aniline Black, Ecru and Saddle Nappa Leather), and extended leather on the dash and suede headliner.
-Acoustic glass that makes the ride quieter.
-No air suspension, which I've heard will break and be a costly fix.
I've only test driven the base model, which I thought was comfortable and quiet. Those of you who have experienced both CL trim and base/ML trim:
1) Have you noticed a huge difference in leather quality and cabin noise between the CL/UL and the lower trims? Would you say it's worth it to seek and pay more for the CL trim?
2) Between the upgraded Semi-Aniline Black Leather and upgraded Ecru leather, which would you recommend and why? Semi Aniline Black cost about $700 more as a factory option. Any difference in feel/longetivity?
