Default help Buying 2004 Ls 430

Hey, I’m looking at a 2004 Ls 430 ML 138k miles. Test drove it and it drives flawless no engine noise. Serviced at local Lexus Dealership. The problems are the navi doesn’t work none of the head unit works. The message “the external system is not connected", check the condition of air conditioner” pops up and also the seat doesn’t move forward or back nor does the steering wheel asking price is 6k. Should i close out on it and get it fixed my self? or pass on it?

Sounds like a hard pass unless the price is bargain basement - like $2000 and/or you are a super mechanic yourself.

What you described might just be the tip of the iceberg! Sounds like you have a major project on your hands. Chances are the previous owner neglected these items (and possibly other items not discovered yet) as they popped up. Ultimately, he probably decided to throw in the towel due to the car's age and the expense involved. If I were you.....I'd do exactly the same....walk. There are cars out there that were cared for. With persistence you'll find one. Good luck.
