Not sure if you guys in the US are going to able to help here as I suspect this is a Japanese market only issue.
my recently imported 05 Celsior (LS430) has audible information through the speakers saying who knows what message in
Japanese. It happens around 30 seconds after startup.
I would like to turn it off if possible.
The centre control screen has a few display windows (in Japanese) for the various control options AC , radio, satnav ,servicing etc so I'm wondering if there is some option on the screen to turn this voice message off. It's annoying to listen to !
I have navigated my way around this Japanese market screen for various option adjustments like clock and radio settings etc but I have no idea if I can turn this off.
Any help appreciated.

You could buy a mini VCI cable and load Techstream software on a laptop. With this you can plug into the port in the drivers footwell. With Techstream software you probably will be able to turn this feature off in the “Custom options” section. I use it to change such things as headlight off timer. These cable and software are available in the states on EBay and Amazon. You tube has some good videos on how to setup and use Techstream.

Ok, thanks.
So turning it off on the screen control is not an option ?
Also, is it unique to Jap car or do USA models talk also ?

I would get some video of the voice and what its saying, and then get someone to translate it for you. That will give you a better idea of how to address it.

Do not know if this will do it, but did you try ...

Push the “MENU” button to display
the “Menu” screen, and touch the
“Volume” switch.

To adjust the volume, select the desired
level by touching the appropriate number.
If you do not need voice touch the “Off” switch.

USDM ls430s have lexus link which for the 01-03 models is no longer functional. When I got my car a voice would tell me everytime I put the key in that the lexus link system wasn't operational and needed to be taken to a dealer to be repaired or something similar. I don't know if the JDM cars have something similar to that, it's like chevy's onstar.
