Clicking in front windows when rolling up or down
Hi, I've been looking at purchasing a used LS430 now for awhile and haven't found one that's been quite right for me until today when I saw 2001 LS430 with the ultra luxury package. It's the only one that I've seen that has a clean well documented service history while also having the timing belt and water pump done, so it seems all great to me. Everything inside and out seems to work great except for two things, when switching between the two suspension height settings I didn't feel any difference in the height, but the ride felt as smooth as any car with air suspension I've ever driven so that didn't seem to be the issue. The other thing I noticed was both front windows make a clicking noise as they roll up and down. They move at the correct speed and go up and down all the way just fine, but they make that weird clicking noise while doing so. Neither of the back windows make that noise, and none of the other ls430's I've driven and tested out have made this noise when testing the windows. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this I would really appreciate it. I'm planning on coming back to check the car with an OBD2 scanner I just ordered and if that seems all clean the owner and I have agreed to take it to the local lexus dealer to have them do an inspection on it.

It's possible the cable is off its clip and moving around when you are having the window go up and down or a trim piece has fallen in and is creating an issue. Or the track has a dry/dirty spot that may be causing the noise
This is not something easy to say what exactly could be wrong unless we are there in person and can listen/manipulate the window

When I changed one of my window motors out it started doing that. That was a year ago I think, haven't had any issues with it other than the sound, my guess is that the window motors on yours were replaced at some point
