Default Chrome around gear selector

What do I do to remove the chrome piece around the gear selector ? Just get a screwdriver under the edge and pull up.
Where are the attach points ? I don't want to break it, or scratch the wood center console.

i am trying to get underneath the part that shows what gear you are at, once you move the shifter ..... because the shifter does no move so well going from park to neutral.

thanks !

Ah ok, saw your thread title and made an assumption!
you'll have to remove the wood too then I believe, a quick search on here or Google should get you what you need.
My understanding is the grey piece us attached with 4 tabs to the actual shifter unit, it does come off but not sure what lies beneath...

Thanks for the help.

I am trying to get underneath the cover that the chrome piece surrounds. Was hoping the piece would lift up once the chrome ring is removed .... I'd rather not remove the entire console.

so 100% buy a set of nylon interior tools from amazon - maybe $12 or 15. If you are ever doing anything with plastic they are great for prying or popping things up!!!!

Yah you need to remove the entire center and there is 3-4 bolts holding the shifter assembly itself.

I replaced the tiny light under the shifter plate a couple years ago. Pulled the entire centerpiece out. It was much easier than I expected as no tabs broke and the whole thing went smooth.

Take a look at this thread- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...es-how-to.html
