Hi all, have looked in the other P0333 threads but not sure if I have found a definitive answer(s):
1) Does this code always mean that the sensors are bad, and thus resolves if I replace them?
2) Is there a DIY thread for this, and/or preferred replacement part# besides OEM?
3) Is it accurate that there is no danger to the mechanicals while driving the car short distances prior to fixing?
2006, 145k miles, was just serviced at Lexus Greenville, SC a couple months ago and had a clean bill of health. Bought the car with 140k on it last year or so, had the best carfax service history I've seen on any vehicle (at Lexus dealer every 5k miles for service like clockwork)
Innova 5410 scanner:
P0333(1/2) Stored, Knock Sensor 2 Circuit High Input (bank 2)
P0333(2/2) Pending, Knock Sensor 2 Circuit High Input (bank 2)
I do see the thread saying if only one bank is bad you can splice a wire from the other bank to feed the ECM....unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't be, I'm pretty adverse to this band-aid.
Appreciate any input

If not the knock sensor, then wiring (part of starter harness) is suspect.
Considerable heat under the intake manifold/engine valley so the wiring and connector shells do not hold up well there.
Have both knock sensors and starter harness from low-mileage 2001 LS430...
While in there, replace your starter and starter harness.

At dealer for service it was just routine oil and filter, tire rotation.... but i paid them for an inspection too and it came back clean except for a nut on right rear wheel is stripped so need the stud replaced.
Starter was replaced by Lexus around 130k miles (all the big stuff, starter, battery, alternator, water pump, timing belt was done in between 130k miles and when I got it, at Lexus dealer)
how much for the sensors/harness you have? Shipping would be to Asheville NC
