LS430 ECU Tuning

Small update, we now have a way test the incoming ecu's and we quit supplying them for the gs and ls430's because of their super high failure rate coming from the yards and ebay.
Haven't had a problem since.
There is also this, many people package ecu's really really bad. Which is another reason we will be testing all incoming ecu's before tuning in the future now that we have the ability with in house vehicles and a engine simulator I built. I take these problems very seriously, and have been working hard to eliminate all potential issues.
this is a good possibility, it seems to mostly be a LS and GS ECU issue, other vehicles I've seen maybe one or two other ecu's with problems out of many hundreds of them. The GS and LS just seem to have a super high failure rate. The heat from those engine bays seem to be what kills those ecu's.
Unfortunately I've had bad luck with sia.
Sent them a bad ecu, they said nothing was wrong with it. I sent it off to another guy (unpopular) and it came back working.

I've had an issue of the car lurching forward at 10 to 15 miles an hour in first or second under very very light throttle with the quantum/all4swap ECU. Is it also due to to this issue? I remember reading somewhere that SIA just reflowed the boards with hot air as the shifting issues were due to cold joints. Is this a different problem from that?
Having the ECU in the engine bay probably isn't the best place huh....

Hey Quantum, looking at getting myself a second ECU for my 06 GS430 and shipping it to you for tuning. Am I correct that you can do the "SIA" repair for rough shifting while it's in there? I'd like to have it completely refreshed as well as turned up to 11 in PWR mode.

Sorry, I don't do repairs. I send all of my repairs to josh at relentless after a loooooooooong conversation.

fully agree. It is the old story: younger women, older wine, faster horses
There is no end to the desire. I had some very fast cars;after a while it is all deja vu. Really - when do you need to shave off the second or fraction of a second in day to day driving. Of course it is a different story on the racetrack. But then you have the wrong car.
For me - the slower I drive the longer I can sit in the car to enjoy it
Facit: after you spend a LOT of money, you will sit in the car and speculate - was it really worth it? Maybe I should have bought a Ferrari or Porsche
