Default Need help choosing between All Season Michelin, Pirelli, Continental and Bridgestone

I need help choosing new All Season Tires. Currently on Michelin Defender. Considering:
1. Michelin Defender T&H
2. Pirelli Curato P7 All Season Plus II
3. Continental Control Contact Tour
4. Bridgestone Truranza

I live in near Chicago, with its cold, snow and rain all being a factor in my choice. I do not run winter tires. I appreciate your thoughts. Testing at Tire Rack shows the Pirelli, Continental and Bridgestone performing better in snow than the Michelin. In view of recent winter weather, any recommendations.
Best,
Bill

I have tried two sets of all-weather (not all-season) tires on 2 different cars. Toyo Celsius (quiet and decent but not as "grippy" as I might like in dry/wet) and Vredestein Quattrac Pro. I LOVE my Vredesteins, and they are supposedly a cut above regular all season tires without needing to be swapped out in summer. They improved the noise from stock Goodyears in my Cadillac XTS and if I ever need new tires and still own my LS430, I will look for them. I learned about them on Tirerack, but Mavis (local tire chain) ordered them for me even though they are not as well known a brand here. They should be. Great tires year-round.

BTW, I previously had Michelin MXV4 on my ls430. They were great too but when it was time to repolace, I looked for all-weather. MXV4's not made anymore also.

+1+1 I have the Quattrac Pro's on my 06 LS430. They are quiet, grip well on dry roads, rain, light snow and have the winter triangle rating. All of this and they are about $140.00 each from Tire Rack. Try them, you will not be sorry!

Have the Continentals. We live in Minnesota. No problems getting around in winter weather if you don’t do stupid stuff!

I have P7 plus on my car and got caught in some light snow and they are pretty bad. I have dedicated snow tires since Canada lyfe.
I had conti extreme contact DWS before on my GS and they were ok in snow maybe consider those.

I just had a set of P7 Plus 2’s put on my 04 LS. Rides great. Got the H rated version. A little smoother and quieter than the 1st version I had in V rated.

the II’s scored highest in Tirerack’s recent testing:

Same experience here a few weeks ago with a single 2" early snow fall. White knuckle driving all the way home. Never again.

With the P7's the traction control will even kick in on a wet road in the summer. I have a pretty light foot.

I'm in the same boat as OP and about the pull the trigger on the P7 Plus 2's as well.

I really like the Continentals, I have yet to encounter snow or ice with them. They are quiet, and handle really well. I had Michelin prior, the continentals are quieter.
