Default 2004 LS 430 - motorized bar against rear windshield

What is this motorized bar? It started happening recently that bar remains in the up position whenever my 2004 LS 430 is in park or drive, but when I put it in reverse the bar retracts downward and out of view. Otherwise, when I shift to park, this bar remains up. What’s the name of this part and how do I get it to stay down?

It was the automatic sunshade system, looks like it's trashed now

Aw, dag. Thanks for the reply. How tricky is it to fix on my own?

If you may wish to stop the movement until you have the opportunity to replace it, I think it is fuse #7 located in the trunk (luggage compartment)....
Fuse box in the trunk
Pull the tab and remove the cover.
(Go to 3 minutes 8 seconds and 3 minutes 15 seconds on video) ...

Also ...
■Rear power sunshade

To raise or lower the rear sunshade, push the button.
1. From front seats
2. From rear seats
■Rear power sunshade operating conditions
The ignition switch must be in the ON position
■Automatic operation
●When the transmission selector lever is shifted into the “R” position while the sunshade is up, the sunshade will be automatically lowered.
●To raise the sunshade again, perform any of the following operations:
•Shift the transmission selector lever in “P” position
•Push the switch again
•Move the transmission selector lever out of “R” position and drive your vehicle over 9 mph (15 km/h)
■Retained accessory power
The rear power sunshade can be operated for approximately 60 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ACC or LOCK position

Is there any way to have it stay up when in drive and park automatically? When I switch to reverse, the power sunshade goes down but doesn't come back up unless I manually press the button

It should return to where you had it once you are out of reverse

I believe it used to do this, but not sure why it stopped. I did a battery reset and that didn't seem to help. On the newer Lexus it does return to where it was after going out of reverse

You don't need to mess with the fuse you can disable it completely with the switch on the center console.
I disabled mine within the first week of owning my 430 it hasn't moved up in 3 years.

OK, I'm embarrassed to admit, but this was the fix right here that 430SLOwner provided: it was a simple button by my gearshifter. Not sure if I hit it by accident, but the problem's solved. Thanks for everybody's input!
