Default Installing Factory XM Receiver Today

I've wanted to install Satellite equipment in the LS for a while, so I finally collected all the parts and dug into it today. Was actually fairly straightforward with the help of RKW's link for the installation guide from post 3 in this thread;

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ite-radio.html

Here's the Receiver, Antenna, Harness and Antenna Splitter. Total investment was just about 150 bucks. The most expensive item was the harness (95.00) I had to buy a new one from Toyota as I couldn't find a used one.

First step was to remove the Right side trim panel and the rear/top cover to expose the amplifier area

Installing the harness came next. It connects to the amplifier in line with the factory harness. Very easy. I ended up securing the receiver in the forward right corner of the trunk.

I mounted the antenna inside the car at the base of the rear window and chased the antenna lead through the third brake light opening. It seems to work well there

Before I buttoned everything back up, I made sure I got some reception on the radio. Happy to say that after connecting the battery, I turned on the radio and hit the AM/SAT button and got the demo station.

After getting the trunk trim installed, I made sure to put all my wife's crap back in the trunk.

So, next step is to call Sirius and get the radio working. All in all, I'm happy with the install.

Thought I would mention (you may already know) that you may receive a FREE 3-month trial and get every channel available including every premium channel on your radio plus stream online and on the app with no credit card required. After the trial the service ends with no obligation. You may then continue to have service with a paid subscription and get quite a discount for the first 12 months and save up to a total of $230.85. Which is nice.

Great install! And yeah, haggle with them on the cost... there are ALWAYS deals to be had.
