Problems caused by 'red' antifreeze coolant? GM lawsuit in 2008. Same Dexcool?
I recently replaced my radiator because it was leaking.
I bought some red antifreeze from WalMart, it said on the label that it was for Lexus and Toyota.
I have now been informed of the red dexcool antifreeze lawsuit against GM back in 2008.
I unfortunately do not remember exactly which product, which brand of red antifreeze that I put in my car when I changed the radiator.
Is some or all of the red antifreeze that is labeled 'for Lexus and Toyota' today, the same stuff, with the same harmful ingredients as the red dexcool antifreeze that was damaging GM cars back in 2008 when GM got sued?
If not, can someone tell me whats different?
Should I change out my red antifreeze and replace it with something else?
What is the best, least corrosive, and longest life antifreeze that we should use in our LS430 models?

not same, should be fine
I do not believe they are same. LS430 original coolant is good for 10 years, DexCool never more than 5. (Subsequent coolant changes on LS430 are also 5 years). DexCool is still used today I believe, and gaskets in GM cars are fixed, no dexcool issues in years. My 2001 LeSabre was fine for 16 years, as is my 2016 Cadillac XTS. I do recommend official long-life toyota coolant or an equivalent -- it is probably NOT same as dexcool. But you should be fine with dexcool for GM and toyota long-life for Lexus.

You got Toyota red, not Dexcool. It was factory fill till '03 I believe. The Toyota red supposedly had a slightly shorter change interval than the newer Toyota pink. You will be fine for 5 years with the red coolant you have.
