As we see in body panels and other parts, aluminum ends up being thicker but weighs less. It occurs to me Lexus is saying replace these bolts because they are threaded in aluminum, is that the reason? From doing engine work on aluminum blocks it is critical all the threads are pristine or you'll gall up the threads in the block and have a very bad day. New bolts make this less likely.

If you do an experiment with bolts of various type and threads into various types you can feel the yield zone of bolts and threads in your hand with experience. If you solely rely on a TQ wrench you will never feel the yield point being exceeded if there is something wrong with the fasteners. A TQ wrench is NOT a bolt stretch gauge/dial and actually in some cases gives way less feedback than an expert freehand. I'm usually within 5% of a snap on digital TQ wrench if the bolt is smaller than a 18mm head since I have enough experience to know what the "zone" feels like and where to stop.
However when it comes to larger, odd material, and very small fasteners I use a wrench or stretch dial depending on importance. If plastic or magnesium parts are involved by default I hyper clean all threads and make completely sure the torque wrenches are in calibration. Those can shatter EASILY if you don't follow directions.
The bolts on the 430 do NOT have any issues being reused according to my stretch gauges, however if you have doubts and want to go by factory TQ specs you new ones.
