LS430 Rear Gear swap

LS430 Rear Gear swap
Hi! I understand that this has previously been a hot topic of debate on this forum, being swapping out your rear gear on your LS400/LS430, and I’ve just successfully swapped my 04-06 3.77 rear end for a 1995 GS300 4.08 rear end. Its extremely straightforward, especially if you’re already starting with an 01-03 ls430 with the 6-Bolt axles (i assume this to also be the case for UCF10/UCF20 LS400s. For 04-06 cars, all you need is a set of the unequal length 01-03 axles, and to take your pinion flange from your OEM diff and that’s literally it. The ECU doesn’t freak out or anything, nor does the transmission. I’ve put 7-10K on it since the swap and have had zero issues. It does make the car quite considerably faster (going from my cars previous 5.9 0-60, to a 5.2-5.3 0-60!!) if any of you guys have any more questions please reply to this thread!

The 92-97 SC300 diff will work, its the same 3.92 that is in the 2GS. you may still need your original pinion flange for it, not sure what the SC/GS pinion flange size is. There’s another 01-03 LS430 that i know of with a 3.92 in it, it’ll bolt right up in those cars, and for 04-06 cars all you’ll need is 01-03 axles

Hello! I just swapped my 2006 ls430 diff for a gs300 2003 diff and upon installation i realized that after swaping the pinion it fits perfectly but one thing I didn’t consider was the axle length. i brought the gs300 axles with me but they are just too short; it wont stick out far enough so i can get the 32mm nut in what can i do? Where do i get axles with the new 6 bolt pattern but with the original length of the ls430 axles?

I did swap the pinion flange; about the unequal 01-03 axles would you mind elaborating a lil bit? Where do i get those from? You mean ls430 or gs300? If you have a link to order them that would be highly appreciated!
i tried modifying mine; i succeed with the first one but the second one i messed up and blew up the bearings
