Yes it did come in Silver, but it is sold out everywhere. I bought this one on a local site, sort of like craigslist. This one came from a person that was down sizing his collection. Item number in silver is Motor Max 73128. I think i will have the only Black Cherry scalemodel now...

Awesome. What is under the hood? Don't tell me you have an 1/18 scale motor in there or I am going to have to get one.

This is seriously the most unique and coolest thread. I finally ponied up and bought one that is an exact replica of my 04 on eBay, but paid a lot for it. That is amazing that you are disassembling and doing the detail. It looks great!

Thank you.

It has a flat pancake V8 under the hood. That plastic panel pops in to resemble the engine. Since the LS has a lot of covers and almost no depth in real life so it looks quit OK.

I got this one for a very good price. I am a scale modeler by profession so this is not hard to do. Just another day at the office.

Still to do:
make the wood more orange in the interior, it is now dark red which does not match my trim
dechrome the wheels and paint them alloy silver
Try to get the red colour of the tail lights and repaint them to red with and do it STRAIGHT (looks like someone was drunk when adding the red to the lights), add the orange to the sidemarkers of the pre facelift style.
add chrome to the side window trim (it is now silver)
add chrome trim to the doors
add a transparant orange circle behind the headlight to simulate a bulb
add reflective licence plates just like the real one
the rear logo and model type plates were silver, and will be chrome when finished

this is what is will look like when finished

Really nice. This thing is going to have so much detail, it wouldn't surprise me to see it with tiny little pink crusties around the coolant reservoir.

Very cool! I have an LS400 1/18 model I got back when I had my LS400 around 1999. The inside isn't quite as detailed as yours (ie no painted on wood trim details) but is decent and would look good if someone took the time to trim it out, however the engine and undercarriage and all the mechanical parts are very detailed and in multiple assembled individual pieces. Under the hood looks just like my old car and even has a removable spare in the trunk with a Lexus wheel on it. The steering wheel even turns the wheels. Been looking on and off for years for a similar 430 model but most of what I've seen are not that great. I love how you've redone this one though :-)
