Default Strange Problem with my LS430

Hi

I bought my LS last october and now that the temperatures are getting warmer I got to try out my AC and the moonroof.
First I tought the AC was broken, but now I noticed that it only blows out cold air, once the engine is warm.
So on my drive home, I always have to drive in a hot car, untill pretty much st same spot, where the engine is warm and then I get the cold air.

Once the air starts blowing cold, it works great, its ice cold! Is this a normal feature in my car? LS430 2001?
Do you have the same problem, or is there a work aournd, something in the settings?

Also I started opening the backside of the moonroof at the begininng of my drive and everytime I do so I can smell the exaust in the car pretty bad.
Is the airflow of the car making the exaust fumes push over the trunk and roof into the car? That seems impossible. I notice it especially because my
car is not burning the fuel properly, its very rich and smells kind of "sweet", due ot the fact that my check engine light is on and I have a problem with the O2 sensor on Bank1, Sesnsor 1. ... but that is a whole nother story - which I cant fix. (allready changed the sensors, the thermostat, the temperature sensor, etc. ... still I always get code P0125l)

Maybe you got some insights on theses matters?

Any help is greatly appreciated (sorry for my misspellings, I am not a native english speaker)

That is not normal. I would recommend verifying whether the compressor clutch is engaging on a cold start. One possibility that comes to mind is that the freon charge is insufficient and once the underhood temperatures rise it causes the freon to expand and increase the a/c pressure sufficiently for the a/c system to engage.

As far as rich exhaust goes, if it's running rich enough it will definitely be noticeable inside the car. If you only have a P0125, it could be caused by a faulty sensor (NEW DOES NOT MEAN GOOD), broken wires, exhaust leak, vacuum leak, stuck open injector, though probably not low fuel pressure. Here's a diagnostic chart for that code: https://lexusy.pl/LS430/rm/rm792e/m_di_0050.pdf

After reading through the other thread you have on here regarding your CEL woes, it sounds to me like there's a broken wire or wires between the B1S1 O2 Sensor or possibly a faulty connector. I recently had an issue with a 2002 GS300 setting the same code and I finally diagnosed the problem as one of the wires on the vehicle connector being pulled out of the connector partially. It was not making consistent contact with the metal terminal inside the pigtail housing causing a similar issue when charting the voltage.

Thank you for your reply!!
I will talk through go through the suggestions with my mechanic.
He was not sure how to check the wire, since he does not know where the cable goes to in the engine bay.
Do you know where I can find, where the wire goes to? Then he could check the cable. I could not find anything on that in the internet.

In the PDF No 3: Check for open and short in harness and connector between engine ECU and oxygen sensor.
Then it says: See page IN-35 - do you have the full PDF so that I can go to that page and see how to do it?

About the AC - yes the clutch enganges right away. I will refill the AC fluid and hope for the best.

Please let me know if you know, where to find the full pdf.
I will report how the hunt for the problem continus.

Thank you!

Before you add freon to it, I would have the High and Low side pressures both checked to verify they're in specification. You could have the proper amount of freon in the system with another problem causing incorrect system pressures.

And here's IN-35: https://lexusy.pl/LS430/rm/rm792e/m_in_0035.pdf
