Auto wipers occassionally work (w new OEM gel pad)
I replaced the rain sensor gel pad w OEM lexus part. I also cant tell if the sensor gell is 'smooshed' against the glass?
Not sure if I just need to pry the bracket off and epoxy to the glass?
But as I noted, set to auto the wipers 'act as set to intermittent.' But occassionally the wipers have sepd up and down in rain to adjust automatically, so they do start working AUTO sometimes :-)
Honestly the full auto wipers were something I really liked on my 2004! I want to get them back but this 2005 has always had an issue.
What do folks recommend?

In my experience, the pad must be 100% free of lint or fingerprints, and the install must be free of any trapped air bubbles. It usually takes me 3 or more tries to get it totally right.
I just got a new windshield installed a few days ago, and of course the rain-sensing wipers didn't work afterwards. Upon investigation this morning, I found the installer didn't reinstall the gel pad at all. Great.
