Was super excited to see this email alert but after looking at the pictures, no thanks. Take a look and see what issues you can find....

I called out some issues and the seller had an interesting response.

This vehicle presents poorly and I think the buyer will be disappointed unless they see it in person. Looks like a lot of small issues all over the body of the vehicle...

The amount of rust really doesn’t make sense for an 11k mile car unless it sat parked in the grass for an extended period of time?

Also coolant residue on the splash shield in that one pic.

Still, 11k miles. And IMO it’s the best combo you can buy at this point — black on black, non-nav with smart key. Interested to see where it’ll go.

It would need an immediate $6k at the dealer including tires (how could you even post a car with 2008 tires?!), all fluids flushed and filled, and belts and probably suspension pieces. Right now I wouldn't even want to test drive it. It depends on the price you could get it for, but this more like that car you knew about down the street and you took off their hands for $10k cash, put $6k into it, and then flipped it on BaT for $25k. The overall external and internal appearance is great. I agree with @Peacebay the corrosion thing is weird. The painting on the fender they mention is likely a garage swipe or parking pole. One thing is for sure, somebody passed away and this car got forgotten.
But then you run into all the little electric motors that have sat unused....uggh, too much to take on here, I would walk.

@Romanova here are some answers to your questions. I can see based on your comment history that you’re all about finding the positives in a car.

The A/C system works perfectly, so not sure why we would service?

Regarding fluids, they’re clean and up to date. We did not service the differential fluid.

I am first and foremost a car collector. I buy cars all of the time with incredibly low miles that could have sat for X number of years (actually this weekend bought a 1 owner 74 911 with 40k miles) and never have I had a car “go bad’ from not having fluids changed regularly.

Regardless, the next owner will be receiving a vehicle with fresh brake fluid, coolant, and oil. Servicing these cars is super affordable, which is one of the many reasons to love them over their European competition.

Regarding the timing belt, if anyone would like it done it would be $1,500 or less.

Photo 131 is wiring for a trickle charger which the vehicle had

Photo 38 just shows compound that the detailers missed wiping off

Photo 44 shows a 1 inch touched up line on the gas door, and it just touches the area below the gas door

Photo 64 shows the rear of the car, so not sure what you’re referring to regarding a fender

Two keys are included with the vehicle, as are the mats. I will post a photo right after this.

I just did a full walkaround of the vehicle, and will post a video tomorrow. This car is dent free. Truly immaculate inside and out.

Regarding corrosion, there is nothing more than it being cosmetic in nature. Most of us dont spend too much time underneath our cars, so thats the good news! If someone really wanted to, a dry ice treatment should take care of just about everything. Is it a Florida car? No. Is it a rust bucket? Absolutely not.

That sounds like a typical salesman response. Two things I find funny are the "most people don't spend a lot of time under their cars, so that's good!" And the "I've never seen a car go bad from no fluid changes"

I have seen rusty suspension components tear clean off an otherwise solid looking car,, and I have also seen NUMEROUS cars receive significant damage from sitting with ages old fluids in them. The coolant in particular likes to eat away at the heater core under those circumstances, which is just a joy to replace 🙄

For a low mileage car I like to see it was driven at least a little each year on regular basis.
Even still, from my experience stuff starts to break really fast when driving the low miles car grandma only drove to the store once a week.

Big red flags to me are cars that sat for several years or have huge gaps in service history and I stay away, but that's just me.
If I was a car collector(which I'm not) it wouldn't matter since it wouldn't be a daily driver.

Most of the rubber components in the suspension will need to be replaced. I wouldn't touch that car due to rust it's quite bad and bizarre for a car with that mileage. Must have been driven in salt conditions then never washed.

Thanks, @Romanova . I can attest he is right about the AC thing. I called my dealer once to schedule an AC service and they told me it is a sealed system and unless there is a problem there is nothing to do to it.
I noticed the wax/compound swipes, they could have just used one more time around with a cloth before they took pics.
That is a funny comment about nobody looking under their cars.

My theory is this: It got flooded in a garage with about a foot of water. The ground clearance on a 430 is 5.6 inches I think, so 1 foot would get up in the suspension but essentially leave the engine alone, hence no insurance report or totaling. Just a theory.

I would be this was a vehicle owned by some retirees who lived right on the coast. They make coastal specific building materials and HVAC equipment because of all of the corrosion that salt in the air causes

I live in S. Florida about 5 miles from beach and rust is never an issue.

If this car lived at a house on the beach and spent time in driveway outside I can see it.
Honestly, It's where I'd expect a low mileage car like this to live.

Many wealthy people have 3rd and 4th vacation homes down here and their cars don't get driven when out of town most of the year, probably like that up the coast anywhere.

Ok, I can resist black interiors and black exteriors all day long, hate them, but light on light......darn you, @Romanova ! If this was a CL I might lose control, but for now I am not in a financial position to play with the BaT crowd, especially after watching that last one for $29.5k.
