New Tires - Going with 235/55 17 instead of 225/55 17
I need a new set of tires and am considering going up to 235/55 17 from the stock 225/35 17 to get a better selection of potential replacements. I know that it will create a little speedometer error, about 1 mph at 70 mph, but wonder what other differences.
I usually prefer to go with a stock setup but wonder if this small difference in size would be significant. Thanks.

The car will be higher, the tyres will look beefy, the handling will be worse, etc.
Put stock 225/55/17, but with new, soft tyres.
I like 245/45/18 better, again, the tyres will make a huge difference.

Appreciate it, that's what I needed to know. Any thoughts on replacements would be appreciated.
I agree, tires make a huge difference. I prefer the comfort of the 17" to the better looking, slightly rougher riding 18".

I had Michelin primacy's / Continental, but they're more sporty.

Running 235/50/17 ZR 96W UTQG: 560 AA A
Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus
Incredibly balanced, smooth, nothing harsh, even wear and great wet/dry traction.
Daily driven 11k miles.
235/50/17 is a plus 1 upsize from the stock 225/55/17
