My power folding mirrors for my 2004 LS430 fold normally, but when unfolding them, they go too far out. The "notch" they stop in is no longer where it should be but past the fully open position. Any ideas?

Contact Texas High End Auto Center in Wylie, Tx. They rebuild Lexus outside mirrors--I think their price now is about $175. I shipped them my driver's side mirror last year from Florida and had it back in about a week. There is a rubber stop that wears out and they go over everything. My right side also needs to repaired, but I'm presently using a zip tie and it works perfectly--just doesn't fold, but it's strong enough to withstand a car wash with no misalignment afterward. I plan to go back to Dallas for a visit soon and they quoted $200 to remove, repair and restore on my 2004 LS430--like they say in Texas, "Hellovadeal!" They include return shipping in their quote. Good luck.

I just took my car back out from winter storage and now the drivers mirror is kinda weak at unfold. It stops about an inch to two from the folded position. Is there anyway of fixing this? I had this sticky mirror issue last fall on the passenger side and wd40 in the hinge kinda fixed it. I don't feel like I should be dousing wd40 on the paint. But any other suggestions? I'm not sure if the ls has weak motors or internal stop sensors if it feels resistance but my other cars power fold mirrors worked fine in the freezing weather and it's less finicky.
