New Continental tires on my LS460, Wooow!

Yep, that’s what’s nice about Continental is their 60 day return policy. So I’m going to give it some time and drive the car enough with these new tires with the larger size and if for whatever reason problems start to occur I can always go back to the stock size.
I appreciate everyone’s input, but so far these tires with the slightly taller sidewall ride so nicely and the car handles, and brakes much much better than the old tires. I don’t notice any major handling issues and in many ways the car feels a lot more stable on the road and it doesn’t bob around like before.

Safety first. The tires are the only thing that connects the car to the ground, not a place to screw around IMO. I bet you would feel just as positive about the tires if they were the same size. None of the things you describe (it braking better, handling better, not bobbing around) make any sense coming from riding on fatter tires, so I'm 100% confident those improvements are not because of the taller tires.

I understand where you guys are coming from and respect your opinions, but what matters to me is that I am satisfied and happy with the tires on the car. And the taller side wall does deflect and absorb bumps better than from what I remember even with the new stock tire size Pirellis P7’s that were on the car before. So it’s not some placebo effect.

You might be happier with those tires on the stock size than you were the Pirellis, it may be the tires not the size.
We’re just worried about your safety and the safety of people who may read this and buy tires that are significantly taller than the OEM size.

"Reason being is that the speed rating is only a “T” therefore it is a softer riding tire." Very surprising that Discount Tire would put such a much lower speed-rated tire on your car. My Owner's Manual shows that replacement tires should be V (149 mph), W (168 mph) or Y (186 mph) speed-rated. The speed-rating on your tires (you say) is T speed-rated at only 118 mph. When I went to Discount Tire for new Continental tires, they checked the make and model for recommended Continental All-Season tires and would only sell me tires which met the manufacturers (Lexus) specifications.

I agree with staying with the OEM size, but the OEM rims are SO HEAVY!! Are there any aftermarket rims that are same dimensions but much lighter like for honda it was the Volk TE37 gramlite were super lightweight.

I think the combo would be 47lb for those vs 55lb for stock 18s with the tire I have on mine. 10ish lb per corner is not bad!
