New Air Ride Suspension Issues
Hello everyone,
I'm sorry if this topic has been covered. I'm new here and I couldn't find anything similar to this.
I have a 2010 LS 460 with AWD. I replaced all four shocks with aftermarket. The backs are Arnott which seemingly works fine. Arnott doesn't have fronts for the AWD, so I got something else from JCarPart. I can't find the brand. The fronts seemingly don't work. I took the actuators off and they do move when turning the car on in what I assume is a system check. I rotated the pins in the shocks by hand to see if that did anything. It does not. Before I contact the manufacturer claiming defective parts, is there anything else I should check? Not sure if it's relevant, but the original shocks did hold air, but the ride was very bouncy and floaty. These new ones are exactly the same way.

Thanks in advance for any help.

How much did you rotate the pins? On OEM struts, there is difference when change ride settings while bouncing the car in front. So aftermarket should be similar.

Lexus Champion
Lexus has very poor support for parts related to the air systems, if you want it to work correctly buy OE

Get rid of all aftermarket suspension parts and your car will ride as new/factory. No way around this. Your 10 deserves it. It's not a chevy.

While you might get aftermarket air to work, there's a great chance it won't give full function. Recently, someone put in Arnott and when pressing height button, got dash lights and issues. He never gave us a resolution. Suspect he won't find one. Good luck.

I don't know if it's a possibility for you but return and buy from Triple Creations on ebay. I just bought an OEM KYB from them. Install and has been working fine for a month now. About $800 with shipping and taxes.

I wasn't aware that KYB made air shocks. Only struts. Couldn't find the seller you suggest. More info please.

OK, it's Lexus/Toyota OEM, the KYB reference threw me. UAE and Japan are less expensive sources. Mayama dot com is another source.

Quarter at a time is a great standup piece (aka 'stab in the dark'). Whole adjustment range is less than 45deg.

I wouldn't be so quick to blame the Lexus brand or model. Sounds like you need a new repair shop. Dealers aren't all the same and sometimes fall short. Gerf is on the money if you can DIY.
