New-to-Me LS 600h L: Control Arms, Diagnostics
#106
Here is my post from when I replaced my struts. They came out to $575 each including all customs / shipping fees. Carmarka.com was the cheapest I could find for new oem at the time. All 4 are now installed on my current silver 600, no issues. If you intend to keep the car ( seems like you do) I'd just order all 4 to save on shipping them individually. If one is leaking chances are another is not far behind.
On my gold 600 one front strut was making noise. When a rear strut went out it felt as if the rear end was hitting the bump stop over the smallest bumps ( the strut would only compress an inch or two). On my silver 600 before swapping struts it had a rear strut that was bad. The back of the car would float all over the place. It felt like driving on a cloud in a bad way. My point is old ones do tend to fail fairly often. Only the front strut made odd noises.
Yes the bottom fork piece you swap over.
Don't do like I did and install the left and right on the wrong side. They will fit and operate in either position. (talking about the air struts themselves not the fork ) There is added pressure on the mounts if they are installed on the wrong sides. Mine survived this way for a few years but are currently installed on the correct sides.
