Foamed insulation got close but not quite, will be foaming the crap out of it again soon. Oncoming traffic still sounds like the window is open although the whistling wind is greatly decreased with the foam. Bumping down the window makes no difference with this.
Foaming inside of the door is very stressful as the window track is right there but I’m getting closer to resolution.
I can’t believe I had such a bad case for a 2013 but it explains the ownership history as it is unbearable sometimes. Clearly they have been picking at this problem for it’s entire life as I have found cut up wads of a microfibre towel in the door panel, a cloth stuffed way into the A pillar via the engine bay, and tape residue in the recess next to the window near the triangle trim piece. This car lived in a warmer climate and the cold weather has now activated the problem on the right side, I have done the JMcraney fix and will go ahead with foam insulation there as well.
Lemons do happen, even to Lexus. Perhaps moving into another LS460 or different Lexus will bring you peace and enjoyment. Good luck with more foaming. Changing cars is costly but can be rewarding.

I will get it fixed. It’s a wonderful car otherwise and was very well kept and dealership serviced for 90% of its life. Shame to just toss it aside over something that can be solved with some effort and tenacity.
But seriously, I had a look at my car the other day and saw what I thought are 2 potential areas for noise. The seal at the front of the door is ridiculously small and at the top of it in the picture it's 2 pieces and just looks cheesy. The front top corner of the door is under the back of the fender in the other pic and there must be considerable turbulence there.
I don't notice anything I would consider abnormal as far as noise is concerned in mine but I haven't driven anything higher end to compare either.
Didn't he already check that seal? It would indeed be loud as hell if it was worn, there is an INSANE amount of air that goes though that channel at speed that can be seen very easily in the rain. Like a LOT of air

Is this a picture of an LS460? The “triangle trim” in the picture is not the correct part for an LS460.
Not correct? Lol. That piece is the reason 13+ have no problems with wind noise. I have those on my 11 and had those on my 10. Cheap, effective, elegant.

13+ still has all the same issues of the earlier cars, they are just newer and the issues show up less. Give them a few years.....

Sealing those was one of the first things I did and I received zero change unfortunately. I wish it were that easy but I really appreciate your taking a look!

I have a 2013 with that piece from the factory and have wind noise that is an exact match to the complaints of 2007/8 owners. Every bit of work I do around it lessens the severity, so you are incorrect.
Well, I didn't mean to undermine your quest. But those improved covers redirect airflow so there's less resistance etc. Obviously nothing to do with your case.
