Trunk Catch is loose - will not close
Fortunately, I have two LS460's so I can compare. The issue is as follows:
The male latch at the "bumper deck" (not the trunk lid with the motor receiving ("female/slot") end of the latch) of the trunk is very loose.
I can move the "male" metal loop back and forth with my finger. It "falls" to the left. I presume that there are mounting bolts. Perhaps they have become loose.
I would need instructions on removing trim on inside lip of trunk and the spring-loaded cosmetic cover around the "male" latch.
Any other advice is welcomed.

My 2012 had a similar issue last year, I had to have the trunk latch replaced. Wasn't cheap either. I didn't have time to fool around with it, so had to outsource to the local indy shop. $800-900 to replace I think.

Simple Fix to the Trunk Latch
Simple fix!! I looked a bit harder and there are two mounting nuts which secure the latch. One had fallen out and the other was loose. The one bolt simply fell into the cavity, and was retrieved with a finger or magnet. There is no need to remove the full cosmetic plastic panel inside the trunk...there is a plastic rectangle that can be removed, popped out from the latch side. My advice? Tighten them now!

@scawley There are actually 3 bolts holding the latch. You found the first two, but the third is almost impossible to see and requires removal of the trim panel on the trunk lid. Here's a video that shows the replacement of the entire latch assembly. It moves a little slow, but it will show the location of all three bolts.

Thanks!
To be clear, I am referring to the latch located in the trunk deck/ledge, not the trunk "lid" which contains the motor assembly. There is a spring-loaded cosmetic door which covers the nut heads. However, on the inside of the panel, there is a panel which can be popped out with your fingers. Nonetheless, I will look for the 3rd nut, if we are talking about the same thing. However, after tightening two nuts, it's SOLID.
