These Cars are made to Travel
Just completed a road trip from NWA to Richmond, VA. Over 1,100 miles in 2 days of travel. Rolling down the highway in total comfort. On day 1 I traveled from the Costco in Springfield, MO to the Costco in Lexington, KY 556 miles on 21.979 gallons of gas 1 tank full. If you are driving long distance the LS is the only way to go.

The seat, gently hugging the body, tomb like silence, diluted only by the high-end sound system, dynamic cruise, gently braking and accelerating as needed... I can continue. Love.

Zero body fatigue. Temptation to cruise over 85 mph comfortably. The gas gauge near empty causes me anxiety. On a long trip it makes sense.

When the gas light came on it showed I still had 56 miles of range left. I was on Man-of-War in Lexington and was within 10 miles of the Costco so I knew I was good to go. The problem turned out that we were in rush hour traffic with lots of stop lights. When I came to a stop at the pump I showed I had 33 miles left in range which I figured was a little over a gallon. When I head out on a long trip I fill the LS up to the max. So with a 23 gallon tank and the neck I cut it close. It might be my imagination but I find if I bump my speed up from 70MPH to around 78 MPH my MPG will increase not decrease. Go Figure

Yeah. Driving for 10-11 hours and not feeling tired. Your neck does not hurt, your back does not hurt and your ears not bleeding - that's LS460 for you. Quiet, comfortable and very stable at the highway speeds. Don't even feel compelled to stop at the rest area, unless for a lunch. My last ES350 UL was pretty good too, but LS460 takes the cake. My favorite long range cruiser so far.

Been driving my LS exclusively on long trips and biking in town. Best of both worlds. It's like a luxury train ride when I want it, and biking is more fun than any car I've driven while getting a little exercise too.

Absolutely agree with your observations Dennis. My only question is why are you going to 2 different Costcos on the same day?

The route we take to Richmond, VA takes us through Springfield, MO so I stop at Costco on the way and top off the tank. Springfield is 125 miles from our home in Bella Vista, AR. We spend the night in Lexington, KY and the Hyatt Place hotel is 1.5 miles from the Costco right off of I-75. Plus I only burn Costco or Shell gasoline in the LS.

After I posted that I realized you may have gotten gas there. I have one Costco near me but it doesn't have a gas station, so I'm not used to that.

Mine has been very good, we have taken it on 9 long trips of over 1000 miles total each with no issues. Easy to drive and unusually good on fuel, it's firmly in 2nd place among my cars for road trips and vastly better than almost anything else.
