Default Engine side covers

Am I the only LS 600 owner that removed the side plastic covers? I watched the video by Scotty Kilmer, stating the fact that these covers retain heat and disintegrate the wiring. we all know that there is a lot of electronics and wiring under these covers. I’ve had mine off for years

You do realize that you removed the cold air intake... If you don't see a problem with that, I don't have anything to add.

Wrong intake. Mine is a 2008 LS 600 . This does not show the resonator.

You have the resonator but your cold air intake is missing. You air filter housing intakes are open to pick up anything floating around inside the engine compartment. this will only cause you air filter to get dirtier faster and worse is that the charcoal filters in the upper halves of the housings will plug up faster and will not be able to store fuel vapours as efficiently.

Your resonator is a dead end pipe with a diaphragm in it.

You have no idea what you are talking about... There are 2 intakes: one gets cold air in front of the vehicle and brings it to air boxes, second connects air boxes with the throttle body. The second one has a resonator.
