2013 LS460 Check ABS Warning
Good Morning,
On my way to work this morning a got several warning lights on this morning . They all came on at the same time while driving on the highway. It is -4 degrees today here in MI.
-Check ABS
-Check BSM System (Blind spot Monitor)
-Check Headlight System
I thought it was maybe related to the brake booster/actuator but I did run a simple diagnostic and it came back with the following codes:
C13AF - EPB System Malfunction (Electronic Parking Brake)
C1465 - Front Speed Sensor LH Circuit
Couple questions:
1. I called my local Lexus dealer - Should I pay $185 just for them to diagnose the issue? I assumed it was actuator issue and my car is still under the warranty until March but none of the codes listed on the letter I received are popping up on my car
2. If its a ABS/speed sensor how hard is it to replace? I researched this and can't seem find if it's a hub style sensor which is pretty labor intensive or just a normal style where it just bolts off.
2013 LS 460 AWD w air suspension and 96k miles.
TY for the help!

Just clear the codes and see if they come back, don't be in a rush to take it to a shop because those codes are all over the place and could've been a voltage issue.
Is the car parked outside?

Yea it was parked out side overnight. It was extremely code overnight and today when I started it. It took a longer crank than usual for it to start. All was fine up until 20 min into my drive.

You should get the battery checked by an auto supply store, I've read in the US they will do that for free. If your battery is around 3-4 yrs old and this has happened before I would just replace it.
If those codes return then you could have them diagnosed, some of those codes will probably be history codes anyway. You may be able to read voltage on your scan tool but you should load test it after it runs for an hour or two.

It's the first time this happened to me but I could be on the original battery. I've owned the car for 3.5 years and I know it has a Lexus brand battery. I just don't know if it's original or if it was replaced by the first owner.
Do you know what type of speed senor the AWD has?
Thx Gerf

I haven't looked at mine but it's probably the hub type with a 10mm bolt holding it. Those bolts sometimes snap like a piece of spaghetti.

When I looked on Rockauto they all seemed like the insert style but I've seen both on the forum. I'd assume the AWD has an insert style but I could be wrong.

Well, if your ABS/BSM/Headlight system still work I wouldn't worry about the speed sensor until you clear the codes and get the battery checked and replaced if necessary.

I see you have a SWB UL as well...Rare bird. Most are LWB.

I had a similar issue with my battery took it Meade Lexus and had it swapped out. They also looked to see if my old OEM one was still under warranty. Its been -7 here so it's possible it's only the battery.

how old was your battery?
I looked on line and Lexus prorates the reimbursement after 24 months of the battery. I’d only get 25% off a new battery and the price from Meade parts dept is $170 new.

The Lexus brand battery supplied a USA dealer is an Interstate brand. Years back a car built in Japan had a Panasonic battery, which was high quality. But US batteries last 3-4 years typically. That's likely what you have now. No way a Panasonic battery would last 10+ years. You can get a Costco Interstate battery for about $110.
