I have a 2007 LS460 L
AFS, traction control, VGRS, VSC light is on
steering wheel position is turned to the right even after an alignment. Car still drives straight
scan tool showing C1231,C1289
I took it to the dealer they replaced the steering angle sensor did another alignment but that didn’t fix the issue they aren’t sure if the issue but want to replace the STEERING CONTROL ECU.
Would that be a hard DIY anyone have any experience with that and know where it’s located ?

Did it just start or is it an ongoing thing?

It’s been going on since I purchased the vehicle. First the steering was turned left I got an alignment and it was straight for a couple days then one morning I wake up it’s turned right. Did another alignment and the same thing happened.
(1month ago)
Do you know where (the steering ECU) it’s located and if it is possible to DIY with a used one ?

The steering ecu is under the hood on the passenger side below the plastic side cover but it might just need a calibration...was it a Lexus dealer that did the work?
Is the steering wheel off centre but it goes down the road straight? There was a problem with the steering in the earlier models but I'm not sure what the fix was yet.

Dealer did the steering angle sensor and an alignment.
car drives straight down the road, the steering wheel’s starting position is way off
I see the power steering control module on the passenger side is that the part or it’s somewhere else?

The part# should be 89650-50140 according to Lexus online parts, it's a little pricey if your just guessing.

This procedure was done on some models at the pre delivery service, it's easy and free.INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE:
1. Drive the vehicle on a straight road at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for at least 5 seconds. At this point, the steering wheel will still remain off-center by 5 - 10 degrees.
NOTE
In this step, the neutral position of the steering wheel is recorded in the VGRS ECU memory.

- Perform normal cornering 2 - 3 times. The steering wheel position is automatically corrected in this step.
- With the vehicle stopped, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock and then drive straight again.
- Confirm the steering wheel is centered.
- ^ If the steering wheel is centered, initialization is complete. Go to step 5.
- ^ If the steering wheel is off-center, repeat steps 1 - 3.
