Brake Actuator Noise - Video Link Included
Just noticed tonight I’m getting a squishy sound when braking (had the radio off) and heard what sounds to be like the abs pump run a couple times when I shut the car off. It’s covered under the warranty extension for me until Nov of this year, so if it’s going bad, I want to get my freebie replacement. Link below. Let me know what you think.

My 2013 did that sound, on and off, from 67k miles to 153k miles, until I traded it in. Took it in around 152k miles just to document to the dealer, as I got the extension letter, they said it was alright. Not to say that may not be it, but just sharing my experience.

Has anyone else besides Vtally experienced this noise? I'm trying to learn the quirks of the car to determine what's normal and what's not; especially if this needs to be documented before the warranty expires.

I haven't had any noise but I did get a letter last year and it stated you had to have certain codes stored before it would be replaced...I can't find the letter right now though.
Here's a link with info and the tsb.https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...iled-info.html

It could just be old fluid. Older brake fluid has a higher percentage of water (compressible liquid) in it than new fluid. So the "squishiness" may be that water in your old fluid. New brake fluid is clear, so if its dark yellow, or a light brown you should have someone change the fluid first. And not just replacing the fluid in the reservoir. I mean replace all the fluid in the system. The process is posted here in the forums. I have access to techstream, so I used the built in tools to do it. I forget how often you're supposed to change it. I think it's like 3-4 years, or 40-50,000 miles? Whatever the lexus owners manual says.

My 07 makes this clicking noise when I back up at times. But never had any braking issues so far. I do plan on getting a brake flush done next week.
BTW do you have to have Techstream in order to flush the system properly? Or can any shop do the job like any other brake flush job? I’m just curious to know why these LS 460’s are so specific with flushing the brake fluid and if damage can occur if not using Techstream?
