Default Winter tires, what size 18” or 19”?

Wondering what size winter tires you guys are running? 18” or 19”?

My summer tires will be 19”.

You are in Michigan so Winter roads will have ruts and potholes like they do here. 18" tires have a lot more sidewall than 19" given the same diameter. That improves ride, saves rims and is easier on suspension parts. Also, 18" tires are a bit cheaper and easier to find. That said, I run 19" Nokian WR5s year round. No switch overs and they are a great tire, summer or winter. Very Very close to pure winter tire performance, in fact, they are better on ice than some pure winter tires, but still have very good summer handling.

I run CrossClimate2's all summer and Blizzak's if needed in the winter. All are size 19".
