I found this beauty, a 2013 LS460 RWD with 99,000 miles for $25,000. I went on a test drive today and loved it! Smooth powerful and quiet. I plugged in the VIN into Lexus like some suggested and couldn’t find any major repairs done in the past. According to CARFAX it had two previous owners and regular maintenance was done including a noise that was checked (no details provided on the car fax). I was previously looking at a 08-12 model year but concerns about problems with suspension and other things drew me away. Does this sound like a good buy? Were some of these problems fixed for the 2013 year? This car did have a “HEIGHT HEIGH” button but I couldn’t get it to work on my test drive. Dealer does offer an extend warranty for their vehicles. I currently own a IS250 but would like some more space, I’ve had no problems with my current vehicle.

If the height high control doesn't raise and lower the car by about an inch there is a problem with the air suspension or it has been converted to standard shocks of some type. The passenger side ride height seems to be about normal .
I have a 2013 f sport with about 30k miles and have just recently found that the valley plate coolant leak needs to be done so the age of the car seems to have more bearing on that problem compared to the mileage. Other people have replaced suspension components which is to be expected on any car, some have had to replace brake actuators/ abs pumps etc that are pricey as well.
That seems to be a good price right now, but if you need to replace air suspension components you can get upside down on that deal in a hurry.
Took me a year to find mine. I picked up my 14 base RWD, with ML, 85k, 1 owner, full service history done at Lexus on time or early, and I paid $25k OTD....BUT, that was with a $1200 discount since I showed them the valley plate was leaking. I'm very pleased with it, other than the anxiety of the $2k-4k every time something big breaks, but I guess it's part of it. I got mine last month.
As mentioned, the height adjustment is very small. Hard to notice when driving. Measure with ruler on level surface to be sure it works. It can take a wI think it’s more about soft vs firmer. This isn’t like an off road vehicle with 4 inches height. It can take several minutes to release air. Best to do it while driving.
Make sure to pay a knowledgeable shop to do a pre purchase inspection. It’s money well spent. Many come here to lament over an issue that an inspection would have revealed. Nice car. If it has Mark Levinson stereo, it’s a nice deal.
Mine is a 2017, 69,500 miles, I paid $36,500 in May 2023. So far, I already did an ATF fluid change in June 2023 that cost $172 at a transmission shop (even brought my own OEM fluid, which cost around $16 a quart from ebay for them to use since I trusted them as little as I dared to.)
As others are already pointing out about this car, if the "height/high" button (the presence of which, of course, means this car has the air suspension) produces no response and no change in height, the car might have an expensive problem that'll need to be sorted really soon. Some owners take one look at the costs for fixing air suspension and simply delete the feature instead. (The parts to do that cost around $1,000; and it wasn't the cost of such a kit that concerned me, so much as knowing the parts apparently fail often enough that somebody makes a special kit just to remove the feature).
When I was looking for the LS last year, the first place I came to find out what I might be getting into, was of course this forum. After I read enough posts about other owners' experiences with fixing the air suspension if and when it fails, I decided to avoid buying such cars altogether.
