Auxiliary Audio Input for LS600hL With Mark Levinson Sound
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and I'm curious about how to play an iPod in my 2008 LS600h. I saw online that I can use an auxiliary jack that plugs into the iPod's earbud port(?), but it doesn't show if the vehicle requires the other end of the jack to be a USB or another male auxiliary jack? Does anyone know or recommend something I can use? Thanks very much!

Look in the center console for audio inputs.

Hi Suzie. I have the same model. Under the front centre arm rest you should find a 3.5mm stereo jack socket. The DISC/AUX button on the stereo toggles between the CD/DVD and the aux socket (as long as it detects that something is plugged in). You can get a cable from Amazon with a lightning plug on one end, and a USB and 3.5mm jack on the other. That, plus a car cigarette lighter / USB socket, will allow you to plug your phone in for power and audio.

Evansj, Thank you so much. I really appreciate the help. Now I know exactly what to buy. By the way, how do you like your 600hL? Have you ever had any issues with the car?

I’ve only had it for 6 months. I deliberately bought it at the cheaper end of the market knowing I would be putting some money into it. I spent nearly £2k at the dealer giving it a major service and a replacement sunroof. I have since had the rear exhaust boxes replaced with aftermarket parts and I’m not a massive fan (too noisy) so I might end up replacing them again with stock. However, the next job will probably be front suspension - there’s a knocking noise from the right wheel.
It’s a great car to drive, and fortunately I don’t commute to work so I can afford to refuel it. The reclining rear seat is really cool too.
