Getting In and Out of the Car
It is just me, or does it seem like these cars are difficult to exit? I’m short at only 5’5”, and I turned off the exit assist feature since it didn’t really help and unnecessarily runs the seat motor too much. There’s no grab handle on the A pillar, which isn’t unusual on a car, and I also want to minimize wear on the seat bolsters. I wait until the steering wheel motor stops, then brace against it.
I could try setting the auto exit to the midway point; since I’m so short, my feet barely touch the pedals when it’s fully moved back.
Seems more difficult than my ES, and I test drove an RC 350 when I was looking for a weekend toy, and they’re awful to get in and out of.

I am 5'7", so not tall either. Its possible that, to reach the pedals, you have moved the seat forward enough that without the exit assist its difficult for you.
In case you are worried about exit assist causing long term damage.....I had a 2014 IS250 for about 8 years and approx. 137k miles and ALWAYS had
the exit assist going. The mechanism remained fine. I know that fully abled men don't like to be seen using the butt-first method of entry! The butt goes
in the seat first, then the hips pivot and the legs get in! Us disabled folks are forced to use this method, and it makes things easy.

Mine has them above the doors; I was talking about the stationary ones on the A pillars like our GX, but it would look really silly on a car. The GX has Ecru interior so we really have to watch the wear. I’ve already had to dye the bottom left of the driver seat.

My S560 was in the shop and I had a GLE loaner, and it really reinforced to me why crossovers are replacing sedans, rode great and very easy to get in and out of. However, getting back into the S560 was like a revelation afterwards lol

Since I turned 66, my body is complaining about any low sedan. I’m looking at RX350 as the seat is higher. I’ll have a tough time adjusting to the luxury level change though.

I’m 55 and 6’02” 205lb - getting in and out is not difficult although it is not as easy as getting in and out of my slightly lifted Wrangler or wife’s GX460. The LS460 is my first sedan in a dozen years and I’m quite used to driving leveled trucks with larger tires - always used the grab handles to get in them. The LS is just different although I don’t have any physical limitations although my wife would chime in that I’m messed up in the head a bit…

The halfway retract or midway point for the auto seat is the best. Im 5,11 and didnt enjoy the full retraction at all. I reprogrammed it to do the halfway point. I forget if its in the settings menu or if it's something the dealer can only set (with techstream).
if you're having difficulties id suggest you try and midpoint and or turn off seat retraction altogether.

It's all relative. I'm 76 and getting in and out of my LS 460 is a piece of cake compared to either of my Ferraris!

My 460 is the lowest car I have and it's slightly annoying I guess?
The A8s are worse if I have them in their lowest mode but I don't park them that way unless I'm out and about and forget to switch upon entering a lot. The 460 is just permanently low but I don't mind it at all and it's main driver doesn't complain so I guess it's fine
