i recently changed the HID bulbs in my 2008 LS. Went with diode dynamics HID bulbs been a few weeks and noticed recently that they both work and are bright but after driving for a while 20 mins or so and i turn off the car and turn it back on the driver side doesnt turn on even if i cycle it on and off but if i let the car sit overnight both headlights work again but once the cars off again the driver side wont turn on.

is it a bulb issue?

I made the mistake of ordering D4S bulbs from them for my 2013 460, they are obviously cheap Chinese bulbs that diode dynamics puts cheap labels on and sells them as their product. There is nothing about the origin of these bulbs on the website but are listed as" made in china" on the box, I wouldn't go to the trouble of peeling back the fender liners to install these sub par units so they just sit on the shelf.
I bought Sylvania D4's and there is a world of difference in the construction.

 

funny you say that. looks exactly like what i got i also ordered it off amazon. so double whammy. i just ordered bulbs off a legit website and went osram. im hoping its not the ballast and just a bulb issue.

 

At least you can return them to Amazon within 30 days usually. The osrams will be many times better light and have more life than those other ones. good luck

 

Hella d4s bulbs are good too.

 

Buy Phillips bulbs off rock auto and they will be real, check the bulb if you have doubts. Real ones have QR codes on box and bulb that will link back to the website and individually track each one.
