Default Are these bad bushing on control arms?

Hi everyone,

I decided to take a pic of the driver side front top control arms. Used a flash light and I see this.

Are these torn? Or just rubbing against the metal so that it’s clean without dust there? Anyone know?

Front driver control arm but the one on the top right

The front driver control arm (but the one on the top left).

Anyone have any idea ? Hard for me to tell if these bushings are torn

any way to really be sure? When I drive, it’s straight. My tires are at the point where they need to be replaced but I noticed the inside of the tire on both sides have more wear that the outside.

Turn the wheel fully right then take pictures of the bushings. Then turn the wheel fully left and take pictures again of the bushings. Post those pictures and I'll let you know my thoughts.

Does your car go straight down the road, does it pull in either direction, does it clunk going over bumps, what's the difference in Treadwear from the outer to inner tread in mm or 32nds? if not really out to lunch why not just go get the alignment checked/toe adjusted.

Goes straight down the road, doesn’t pull in either direction and no clunk going over speed bumps etc.

unable to check diff in tread wear but I used the penny trick and the outer tire would be 2mm while the inner part of the tire would be 1mm or 0mm (yes I prob need new tires now).

If the good side is anywhere near 2 mm your tires have needed replacement for awhile, a difference of around 1 mm inner to outer isn't really excessive wear...you could get that from too few tire rotations.

got it! Yeah I rotate probably once a year haha so yeah that sounds about right! Yeah it’s around 1mm to 1.5mm difference from inner to outer of the tire!

ok glad to hear my control arms are still good. Phew! Thanks all!
