Brake clicking noise = shift lock solenoid?
#16
I appreciate your insights, but I'm not the type to fiddle with brake settings, let alone parking brake configuration. Does pressing the brake pedal cause the parking brake to engage every time? I'm talking about the clicking sound that occurs each time I depress the brake pedal.
My apologies, I misread. Depending on where the clicking sound is coming from. Is it when in Motion or just sitting still. If it's when sitting still have someone press peddle while you walk to each corner listening. If it comes from only one corner it could be a loose pad. Easy fix with new hardware. Open the hood and look for silver box with brake lines coming out. If that's clicking its your actuator.

That's exactly where i am at. Lexus replaced ABS recently and brake and rotors are 93% since i just got it done recently as well. As a result, I assumed—perhaps incorrectly—that the hardware, brakes, and ABS are all fine. No matter the speed, the car makes an annoying clicking sound as soon as you depress the brake pedal. I believe the clicking is coming from the right passenger side, but I'm not sure if it's coming from the front or the back. I'm not sure if the solenoid scenario mentioned above applies to this particular car, but it "makes" sense as a possible culprit :-)
