btw, i was in bed yesterday thinking about the led headlights, and someone weird in that video. if you think about AFS, it works like this:

1) the passenger headlight will move to the right by up to 15 degrees
2) the driver headlight will move to the left by up to 5 degrees

now from the video, the driver side headlights move to the right?! what does that do??

Good point. That has to be a new system and perhaps why the brochure does not call it an AFS.

I believe the ES350 has some sort of advanced AFS now. Both headlights move up to 15% or something like that. I wouldnt be surprised if the LS460/600hL have this same feature.

It's called Dual-Swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System.

It's from the ES 350 advertising thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=211124)
which magneto112 commented on, thx!

Whoa cool stuff. So the driver-side headlight in the LS600hL demo video is really turning left AND right! What an idea.

ah this is cool, obviously i missed the new es stuff very good idea. i actually always wondered for the AFS why they only turn one side and not the other. i guess now they are doing it in a more advanced way

so the brochure says no AFS but video shows otherwise, i guess we will have to wait and see what's really going to happen

^^^
I scanned that ad from Money Magazine, and the New ES website vid also describes/shows the dual swivel headlights in action, which confirms what this ad talks about.

The LS 600h L headlights look amazing. It's a switcheroo that I like in that the LS 460 lights look great, and the LS 600h L lights look absolutely spectacular without making the 460 lights seem obsolete..just different.

To me, the glass housing of the LS 600h L lights makes it seem like a display case for those cool bulbs inside. I can't wait to see them in action vs the HIDs of the LS 460...

totally, i think those headlights setup set off the 600hl a lot

it's funny, coz' here in cali, law says that at any time, ONLY two sets of driving lights could be on. now on the ls600hl, it seems like even fogs aside, there will be 4 sets of lights on in the low beam part already

and then with the fogs, damn

i wonder if cops will start pulling 600hl people over like they do with the sti and the evo viii people?1

Good luck with that approach. I'm sure it'll work in your favor!

i would have said it to the cop that stoped me for "Drafting" in the LS430 but my mother opted not to get navigation in her car. Ive actually said to a cop, as a joke if he needed directions to the closest DD, as i have navi in my LX. Cop found me to be amusing.

Who will be the first to do a retrofit of the LS600h LED headlights to their ________ headlights?

With due respect to all the posts, I still believe that the 600hL will have the AFS.
Please consider the following pictures; 1 from the Japanese car, and 2 from the American car.
The red circles highlight the AFS switch.

Good eyes you have. I think you're right! That is indeed an AFS switch in an LS600hL since the dash is leather-trimmed. The debate can finally come to a conclusion now.
