yup i can't wait to see the new system working and sit in the car to really test it out. i just hope they can have a bit stronger base. but given how good the current ls430 already is, i can't wait for the new ls460 setup. i wonder if they have any tweakings beteen ls460 and ls460l?
but yeah, the new ls460 is going to be even quieter. when designing the new es350, they already said that the car is targeting current ls430 in terms of quietness

well, i don't know. but at least on the gs430, sc430, ls430 i have sat it. they all have very clear and nice ml system, but i definitely think the base could be a tad stronger

Personally I'm interested to know what kind of contributions the two speakers ABOVE the rear passengers can make. Also, are those two oval speakers located above the front seats as well? What are the benefits of oval speakers vs. round?

LS460 Sound System
This is my first posting. In the pictures of the LS460 showing the back seat and the inside roof area, there are two 'openings' just above the rear seats that look like speakers. But the dual rear speakers are in the c-pillar area. What are those meshed openings in the roof lining? Any Ideas.

And only if they ditched the 10inch woofer for something bigger. But im sure it sounds very clear.

Yes i did mean 3 speakers.
I'm guessing then that those speaker locations on the ceiling are rear surround channels then...perhaps...
I've definitely learned to appreciate the quality of music a lot more than the quantity.
I got this small Sharp shelf speaker system about 8 years ago from Japan. This system has only a single 4" speaker in each speaker and the cones are made of bamboo!!! It is still is the most precise pair of speakers i have ever heard. I mean to the extent that when you take the two speakers and face them toward one another, the sound from each speaker cancels the other so perfectly that I could raise the volume to the highest level and the volume would not change. The only thing that would stand out is single stereo channel sound. It still works like a pro to this very day.
I could only imagine what this new Lexus system is going to sound like.
One thing i thnk tho is that calling it 19 speakers is *kinda* cheating. 7 out of them are tweeters and though they are speakers and will add greatly to the quality, i think i should add 3 more tweeters to my '90LS and raise my speaker count to 10 by spending only $50...
